Philippians 2:14  Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation.

Set:

Hockey Chat:  Having 5 guys on the ice makes a team.  Having 5 guys on the ice that are working together and covering each other makes a winning team.  When we say that our position is just on Offense or someone else is a Defenseman, we are cutting away that we are all a team.  Whichever color jerseys have the puck determines whether we are all on offense or defense. It’s when we complain or argue that “it’s not my position so it’s not my fault” we all fall down.

Life Lesson: Grumbling and complaining breeds discontentment in our lives.  Have you not been blessed?  Is your work causing you to complain? Yet you are employed while others struggle to find a job.  Is there much work to do around the house? You are blessed with food and shelter.  Are there many tasks to do in your marriage? Count it a blessing as you talk to a struggling single parent or a widower and hear their sad story. By grumbling about these things we create darkness within us.  By doing these in thanksgiving, God sees our attitude of gratitude for the blessings he gave us
