Ready:
". . .whatever you do, you must do all for the glory of God."  -1 Corinthians 10:31b
Set:
Have you ever received a note or a phone call at just the right time? I did today. I had just arrived at Northwestern for my weekly visit to their football team when my phone rang. I had no clue who was calling because it was shown as a "private call." What happened next was a much needed blessing in my life today.

The man on the other end, Randy, shared with me how my devotionals have helped him through some tough times recently. I share this not to pat myself on the back, but to let you know a simple truth: if God has given you a gift (which He has) use it for His glory.

In Scripture we read about countless men and women who lived simple lives and had simple gifts that God used in superior ways to touch many people. If God can take a simple fisherman (Peter) and use that man's gift to help start the Church, he can use your gift in many different ways.

The problem today is that we don't recognize the gifts He has given us, and therefore don't use them for His glory. People say, "I don't have any gifts." Well, I have one word for that: hogwash! God has gifted each of us to do something for Him. Not a single week goes by in which Satan doesn't attack me and tell me to stop my writing because no one cares. And it is usually at those moments when I will get an e-mail or phone call. Those are God's ways of reassuring me that my gift is being used for Him. When I write, it is never about me, but only about Him and His glory.

So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and use your gift for Him! Whatever it is, use it! Share it for His glory. Another "Randy" is in need of your gift from God, and he won't receive his blessing until you use yours.

Thanks, Randy, for your call, and thanks, God, for allowing a simple man with a simple gift to be used in super ways for Your glory.

Go:
1. What gifts do you have to use for His glory?
2. Have you thanked someone for using their God-given gift lately?
3. Today, how can you use your gift from God for His glory?

Overtime:

Lord, thank You for gifting me. Show me how I can use my gifts to serve You and bless others today. May everything I do bring You glory. Amen.
